Korban tanah runtuh Kenya meningkat 29 orang

NAIROBI: Jumlah korban tanah runtuh di Kenya meningkat kepada sekurang-kurangnya 29 orang, setakat malam ini, menurut kerajaan.

Difahamkan, rata-rata mangsa berada di rumah, ketika bencana itu melanda pada awal pagi disebabkan hujan lebat di wilayah Pokot yang terletak 350 kilometer di barat laut ibu negara Nairobi.

“Kami amat sedih untuk mengesahkan bahawa 12 orang dari Tapach dan Parua di selatan Pokot serta 17 dari Tamkal di tengah Pokot terkorban.

“Kami amat bersimpati kepada keluarga dan rakan mangsa yang terbabit,” menurut kenyataan Menteri Dalam Negeri, Fred Matiang’i. - AFP
